Rita El Kadiri is an education expert working closely with teams to support education work in the Africa region and has served as a client advisor for McKinsey’s Education practice since January 2020.
Before joining McKinsey & Company, Rita was the CEO of the largest NGO in Morocco, working to improve quality education in rural areas, especially early childhood education and education for girls. During this time, she contributed to the creation of more than 500 second chance schools and preschools in the most marginalized areas. Rita also launched the first rural digital school and designed the first distance learning secondary school in rural Morocco.
In 2019, Rita was nominated by the King of Morocco as a member of a Special Commission to think about the New Development Model. She worked extensively on topics related to human capital development, especially K-12 education reform.
Rita was also a consultant at the World Bank in Washington DC, where she worked on education in the Middle East and North Africa region. She holds a Master’s degree in international education policy from Harvard University and a Bachelor‘s degree in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin. Rita has a 9-year old daughter, May.
